@chanmenh This is demonstration so it is set at a moderate speed so the viewers can see the action. Any faster it would not look good on video, it will be a just a blur. But in our training, our drills are really fast.

Seems do-able. But im wondering if she could do the same with the attacker striking with full speed and full strength as a normal attacker would do?

@Trapnet1 not to mention that there are various strikes and tech. that are being subtly applied.
-
@Trapnet1 shes rerouting the knife and striking at the same time. hes a " live" opponent thats blocking her strike and feeding the knife right back to her. but, in the end you see her attacking hand switch to a pawing deflect so she could slip the right in. you see, that this is but one step and variation from which this drill evolves into and links to real time combat. there is no difference and its a shame that you cant see it. the thing is you WILL do this in real life with no thought.

Cave man is just some untrained man who lunges full without regard and no precision. to the trained man this can be suprising.

When you see drills being practiced or a demonstration, there is nothing saying that it will definitely work right? So, the drills are for improved reaction. Demonstrations, are to illustrate the possibilities of applying different techniques. Does not mean, you will most definitely be able to pull them off.

@MErazoPT Of course, martial arts does not make you invincible. But that does not diminish the effectiveness of a technique or training method.
