Big accomplishment you passed a 300hp Cayman on the straight, even a stock Z06 could do that. Perhaps you could use 80% of the car and keep up or pass the 911 that started in front of you on the grid!

I loved this video! All the haters can talk all they want, but the truth is your driving put you in first. Remember Corvettes can't hang on the track lol! It would take a pro race car driver to make a Corvette handle well lol! Keep owning these puds and posting your vids please!!!!

i just gotta say, i read so much negativity towards your driving ability. and lets just say those comments are correct. well done on your replies. you stay cool and collect and have a conversation rather than an argument. even if your driving line was different and u didnt go all out, u took 1st and u have what most drivers lack for consistency and thats control of your emotions. ;) well done buddy

Sorry, 8 times the power!

Skills1855, ignorance is bliss. If you read the whole comment, I also run a Formula Mazda which I have set a 1:20 at big willow. As for your miata comment, hang out at the track more often, you will see more miatas passing all sorts of cars. They are a great track car when properly fitted! Who cares if it's a "gay" car. I can smoke a twin turbo vette. That's all I'm saying.
For a car that has 5 times the power, it should be doing wayyyyyyy better.

@FormulaMazda no one really cares about a MIATA,, its like sayin i have a boosted honda civic

this vette can go so much faster...it seems like a caged tiger in this video...come on...unleash the beast

he'll pass in turn 3 under braking, but not in turn 8? wtf?

Nice vid.
I live so close to Willow Springs that I can almost tell what type of cars are running there.
I would race if I could afford to eat up the tires and brakes. I did take a course in Phoenix, but never followed up.
Best of luck

Sweet vid man. I'd like to have a TT v8 for a track car one day. Do you think you would be faster with smaller responsive turbos and say 700whp or not?
No offense bro... I do 1:38's in a Spec Miata with 109hp at the rear wheels.
My advice... Pull the turbo's, invest in suspension and practice the track.
I do 1:20's in a Formula Mazda with 180hp at the engine.
TOO MUCH POWER, not enough talent!

I have seen miatas out there, I thought they were traffic cones. On that day back in Jan of 06, my time was enough to be in front with no incident. Keep in mind my primary goal was (as always with an expensive car) no incident. I didn't really care what the time was, I was in front. So whatever.

That pretty much says it all. Whats the point of all the power when you do not know how to use it? IMO just another vette boy with to much money in the car and no skills on how to drive.

Amazing comment. I drove safely yet fast enough to win 1st that day. Supercharged mustang took 2cnd and a well known turbo 4wd Evo crashed and totaled in 3rd trying to stay with us. We don't go out there to rub and crash, the object is not to. As for my experience, you certainly don't know my driving background so you just embarrassed yourself making such an erroneous comment anyway. Of course we'll all look forward to the day you come out to show us all how it's done... like you did here.

Are you still running with the leaf springs and the rest of the stock suspension?
SagaraSouske 3 years ago
The 1:35 day was on factory rims, stock leaf springs, stock shocks, and factory/untouched suspension settings.
Only change I've made to the suspension so far is bigger sway bars.
