So you never heard of a mercy kill?
-
Quick clean kills is what a good hunter aims for...your two shots still didnt kill it and you just watched it die slowly in pain....i hope your lisence gets revoked

1994naser....He's dead dude 2 rounds from a 30-06 that close is certain death....hell 1 round is certain death!
-
@myrtinrogue19 they should put another round in head or knife to cut the throat ..
-
58 yards and you couldn't get a 1 kill shot? 2 shots and the elk still wasn't dead. That, my friend, is pathetic.
-
should have finished it off.
-
you could have shot it in the head after to reduce suffering, letting it lay there and suffer is cruel

@danishconsumer eye squinting isn't reflex's

It's reflexes

yeah let him die slowly! SO IGNORANT!!!! would it have killed you to give one courteous round to the head?
What model rifle were you using? Sounds like a pump.

@BBDartCA1 - Its a Remington 360 gamemaster. Great gun for the woods.

A great shot and a great elk! I would have recommended a 220 grain round for game like that (because those rounds hit like Thor's hammer) but those 180 grainers obiously did the trick. Were the rounds handloads or factory loads?

@ultimatevideowatcher Yeah, 220s do have some knock down power but I like the flatter trajectory of the lighter bullets. I have killed all my elk until this year with a 270 130 grain bullet. To answer your question they are factory loads from winchester.

what loads did u use, how much powder n what kind of bullet, i'm think of using A-frame or maybe barnes tipped bullets next time i go moose hunting, maybe partition idk...

@jabames - sorry for the delay. I use 180 grain bullets produced by winchester. However I would like to start doing reloads, but at this point I do not.
