Optimus 2x vs. Galaxy S 2

This is a dual-core face off. Both the LG Optimus 2x and the Samsung Galaxy S II pack dual core processors, but which is faster? In this video we do a full suite of benchmark tests including Quadrant, Smartbench 2011, and Linpack Pro, plus we do gaming tests, app launch speed tests, and a browser speed test to wrap it all up.

The Samsung's Galaxy S II packs a 1.2GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus display, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 1080p video capture and WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n. The LG Optimus 2x sports a 1GHz dual core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4" IPS LCD display, Android 2.2 Froyo, 1080p video capture and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The Optimus 2X made the Guinness World-book of Records as the first dual core smartphone released, but does that mean it's also the fastest? Let's take a look with this comparison

Galaxy S ll is great, but right now, i'd go with the with Lg Optimus 2x. Why, the speed differences are not that much to be a deal breaker. They are both powerhouse smart phones, 1.2mp front cam on the Lg is still great. I will save the extra $200 or more for couple of 6 packs and a few lap dances :P

All this 2.2 vs 2.3 can go out the window. It's a competition of the two phones, as is. Using your logic, they should have the same processor and screen, etc. Samsung won (not by much, imo), LG did good and both are good phones.

Overall the 2x seemed to hold its own, while technically losing. The web browser test sealed the deal. 2x was dominated on flash sites. Good job Sammy.

Good job man. I am a Chinese guy so if you can speak a bit slower it would be perfect. Galaxy s 2 seems a lot better but I would rather choose Optimus 2x cause it is lot cheaper in Hong kong.

@OsirisNO I actually have seen a friend using it with his girlfriend when we where on a school trip to Austria, but you are right, nobody ever ever makes use of it. it's just marketing, if one brand has it, the other one needs it to and so on apparently phones these days will always have the front facing camera without anyone using it.
