ok. why do they call this movie "the butterfly effect" if it has nothing to do with butterflies. Why are they even called butterflies anyway? I understand the "fly" but not the "butter". are they made out of butter?

@scifigrl92 Kinda late but the butterfly effect is like a theory. a tsunami can be caused by a butterfly flapping it's wings hundreds of miles away. Telling his girlfriend to put on her seat belt caused the future to change. small things can have big effects.
