Pres. Obama poked fun at Sen. John McCain's claim he was not identified as a maverick. At the White House correspondent's dinner, Obama quipped that "we know what happens in Arizona when you don't have an ID. ... Adios amigos." (May 1)

I still don't understand why did Obama say he was a Christian when he was running for President and once he became president he now says he is a Muslim and knows his father's background when before he said he didn't. Adios AMigo and everybody laughs? Hispanics were here first anyways.

@a211pc Yeah hindsight is 20/20. They may disagree with it now that it has 'failed' but if there was overwhelming support in 2009 for it. In fact more economists believe that it was too little. Keynesian economics looks at the mix of spending + tax cuts to be the best way to come out of a recession. Spending will increase job, tax cuts put money bck into peoples pockets BUT that money will likely be saved in recessions or spent on imports.

@gavincorrea I beg to differ most financial experts today do not agree his stimulus was necessary. Lowering taxes and LOWERING GOVT SPENDING is whats best we need to get off this nanny state govt and get back to self reliance and being responsisible for yourself and not having govt take care of everyone's problems. I am all for assisting people that are physically and mentally handicapped BUT NO ONE ELSE... and if you take the money spent by his stimulus and divide by number of jobs...

@a211pc did so I'm just gonna say that from a budgetory perspective Bush should not have signed that bill. I'm not sure where you're getting this whole 1M/job thing...is that referring to the # of jobs/stimulus $? In any case, even the government's worst predictions did not account for what actually happened. His stimulus overpromised, but most financial experts agree that it was necessary for the economy. Economic growth is done most effectively by lowering taxes and increasing gvt spending.

@a211pc The problem with Greece is not socialism. Its a multitude of things: people don't pay taxes, excessive government spending w/o funds to support it, high debt to GDP ratio, and basically the gov't lying to get into the EU.

Secondly, healthcare was broken the second Bush sighed that bill that increased the entitlement to seniors - it was some drug plan...passed basically at midnight with Cheney as the deciding vote. Honestly I don't follow enough about healthcare to comment on what Obama

@gavincorrea He is to blame JUST for healthcare ..I beg to differ..how smart is it to allow ppl to buy hoiuses who can't afford them that was the DEMS and Obama not Bush and the Repubs, he creates jobs for one million a job ? and the jobs pay 40k a year ...why not just give ppl the 40k and save 960,000 dollars per job, under Obama we now have 50% of the ppl not payng any income tax ...with Obama we have socialization and as history tells us soicailuistic countries DO NOT work .. check out Greece

Given the situation he was bound to fail. He did a poor job with healthcare, but as far as the rest of those issues, they were inherited from the incumbent. Bush cut taxes, raised spending (on war) and deregulated the financial industry allowing banks to have uncovered positions. It imploded, he left and Obama stepped in much to the scorn of the American people. Blame Bush not Obama...thats all I'm saying. I would argue I'm fairly unbiased too since I'm Canadian.

Well he has spent more then any other Pres in history, cut 500b out of medicare , 2600 pages of hlth care noone could read, promised no more lobbyists, created jobs with annual salaries of 40k for price of 1miilion each, takes 20K dinners and then bad mouths wealthy ppl, creating a war between wealthy ppl and non wealthy, exempts unions from obama care, fails to address tax issues, keeps borrowing $ from China to give to foreign aid..hes done a lousey job frankly..
