I was watching some Bobwhite Quail a few years back with chicks, both parents! I seen the tiny chicks feeding in the grass but could never work out what they where actually eating. There where no seeds there it was just a golf course. Have you got any idea what they would be eating on a golf course? Great Video.

Quail chicks need a high protein diet during the first few week after hatching.
Wild quail chicks feed mostly on small insects until they are 5 to 6 weeks old.
