The best version of Smile.

@PissedoffBrianS I absolutely love this version by Eric with George backing him up. I even like the Polyanna versions but Eric just brings it to life!! Yeah, it's a mind blower that Charlie Chaplin did it. I love to see the look on peoples faces when I tell them who wrote it. Thanks for posting this one.

Great!

Sorry to disappoint you but it isn't George Harrison but George Terry playing the solo. He was a part of claptons backing group from 1974-79. Great guitarist!!

thanks... it took me time to locate it on youtube...Finally got it via Google ! It brings to me again nostalgic memories of warm and precious moments spent in London in the 90's relaxing away from war for a while then back there again...God bless you all

Beatiful version , it´s been almost 18 years since haven´t heard it, by the way what a nice solo by George Harrison, take it away George!!!

This beautiful song (melody by the great Charles Chaplin) is simply DIVINE; Eric Clapton´s guitar and voice does give strong emotion to the song!!!

amazing version and probably the best

I'm glad everyone has enjoyed this post, even though it may be hard to find. Thanks for the info that Charlie Chaplin wrote it, I didn't know that. I first heard the song back in the '50's as a kid. Then, it was always sung as an upbeat Polyanna song. Clapton's bluesy version really connects when you're feeling down.

Then you probably know it's Eric Clapton, from Time Pieces 2, released back in the '70s.

I'm glad you enjoyed the song -- one of my favorites. The video was made for my blog, which I no longer keep up, using Audacity and Windows Movie Maker. I simply threw in what art was convienient at the moment.
