  • @diaverde09 The US have never helped us once either, you only entered WW2 for your own interests, your business were just as happy to trade with the Nazis before Pearl Harbour was attacked. America will never do anything for us. It's always been that way and always will. Take the Gulf war for example. That war was a major economic setback for Britain, yet the US was literally making a profit out of it. It's the same with Iraq, you invaded for the oil, and we helped you! It's a selfish nation.

  • So Britains worst time in debt was after ww2 not now and we got out of it by creating jobs and building not cutting, funny how it worked.

  • @Aaronthegreatest Did you not watch the video?

You, our supposed allies, sent Keynes to his death with your tight-fistedness!

If, perhaps, you had given us a gift or interest-free loan, then you would have an argument. But you did not. We exhausted ourselves on the frontline of the battle for liberty and democracy.

    And afterwards, you abandoned us.

Never again can you claim - with such high-mindedness - that you "saved us."

Secondly, we *did* help the UK. Lend-lease virtually subsidized her war effort. Our armies shared resources, intel, and fought battles together. When the war was over, American dollars paid for Britain's reconstruction. And you're mad over what? because we demanded repayment? If it weren't for America's munificence in the 1st place, Britain today would still be picking up the rubble.

  • @SuperMassiveDementiA First of all, America owes Britain nothing--why are you acting as if the UK is somehow entitled to our aid? Of course we entered WW2 for our own interests; that's what nations do. I don't understand why 'selfishness', hardly a trait unique to America, is offensive to you.

  • @SuperMassiveDementiA not fair. I ahve alot of Respect for Americans

  • and what do the current government do? cut the british film council... sigh

  • @HJMbitch Big difference this time is we do not have the Marshall aid.

  • @SuperMassiveDementiA "There is no fraternity between Countries, only interests." Also, the reason most of the World is in such a shitty Economic Situation (aside from the Markets tendency to rise and fall) is either from legacy of the clusterfuck that was European Imperialism (which most of the World is still trying to recover from) or Soviet/Chinese style Communism.

  • @SuperMassiveDementiA You mind explaining how Lend Lease fits into your thesis for me?

  • @attie3 American oil made all the profit off the war.
