I have always enjoyed GJ and MH. This is just one of those upbeat riding in the car songs. Hope you enjoy it and now I can add it to the rest of my favorites :)

  • He's comeing to my town, George, you best show up

  • I love how they rib the guys waaaay more than the gals. Heh. They didn't want the ladies mad at 'em!

  • @beautifulsarah100 I saw George a few years ago at a Carnegie Hall concert in New York and during one number said to my wife, "Isn't he great!" George's wife, Nancy, was sitting right in front of me--I hadn't noticed it at first--and turned around and smiled! George kindly autographed a photo and a quotation of his that I mailed to his home in Tennessee and sent it back to me. A class act!

  • I'd rather be at a Jones show where Jones don't show up than at almost anybody else's show where they DO show up. At least I got a ticket with Jones' name on it.

  • What a funny song! At least he can laugh at himself for the reputation he created for himself. This was a brilliant song! What two wonderful legends! It will be a sad day when they pass on.

  • zero dislikes..........you damn right!!

  • I have been a huge GJ fan all my life, and proudly I can say I was one of the people he DID NOT show up for back in 1983 LOL. I have seen him several times though and at the Memphis Fairgrounds in mid 90s,,he played to a crowd of about 300 and I sat dead center, front row and George sang directly at me most of the time he was onstage I guess he couldnt see past the front row LOL I thought I had died and gone to heaven. When he was done I stood up and screamed and he laughed his head off LOL

  • @mshirley67 Listen close, George says Hag not Hank..

  • @bambi3331 Hank who was in prison? Not Hank Williams. He was in jail a few times, but never prison. Haggard was in San Quinton for a couple of years for breaking in an all night diner and being an habitual or something.

  • @kentucky9000 Well, they didn't give us country music, but they sure have had a big part in keeping it going for the last 45 years or so. Too bad it's fell into the hands of guys and gals that can't even spell country music. Nashville is littered with people just looking to make money not country music!
