  • WOW ! This takes me back..

Jumpin' with my boy Sid in the city !!

  • I really like this rendition.

  • FANIA !!!!!!!!

  • Latin Joe Colon, the Conguero, on the far right, middle side of the photo...will never be forgotten...He was a great Conguero for Joe Bataan and other top musicians...

  • Well I remember this radio station back in 1967-68 in NYC, my sisters use to listen to it every friday, Sometime Symphony Sid's radio would go live from Certain clubs...Before Fania allstar...which I love too..

  • i've heard of a new label putting out Latin Soul out of NY Cacike Records ? young latinos bringing back !!

  • No, sorry for the misunderstanding. My father was a fan of Symphony Sid's radio show in Boston in the early '50's. The station, WBMS, distributed an album set as a promotion and one of the 78's is King Pleasure's "Jumpin with Symphony Sid," which in my opinion is the best version of the song.

"King Pleasure" was actually Clarence Beeks, a native Tenneseean who moved to NYC in the late-40's just as the bebop movement was taking off. Great vocalese stylist. He was friends with Sid in NYC.
