Good on you. Practical and humane. Do have a look at the vid 'Paul Elkins coroplastic rapid deployment homeless emergency shelter'. Regards, Bruce Thomson in New Zealand.
@hawkiye The root is because no one is willing to give a lending hand. A donation $156 per house hold and a spare spot of their yard is all that is necessary to fight homelessness within the world, but people are too greedy and selfish to care. This video deserves more views.
They're about the size of a coffin. Think about it, and where are they going to be allowed to "park it"?. The local council's and police will smash them apart and harrass them. All the home owners will say "not in my street, it will devalue my home".
hawkye i agree,i've been homeless living in an old delivery van for 10 years. The realestate prices here in australia are ridiculous and even if i had a job i cannot even pay the sale price for the next 20 years without interest. it's gone past the possibility of anyone on wages to be able to finish paying the mortgage. in australia our society has gone completely off the rails.
People will come out and give band-aid help like this but they won't bother to find out why there is a problem in the first place. They will build these when there are thousands of empty real homes stolen from the people by the banks... Stop putting bad-aids on the problem and start striking at the root of the problem... Government and Banksters! People deserve a real home not a box to live in.
Me too! Sometimes it seems so hard to make a difference. This one was a piece of cake. I foresee this as a model for future community endeavors. Adam Heilbrun

Have you ever thought about using Aerogel Blanket for insulation?
It's lightweight, thin, and is being mas produced now.
Aspen Aerogels make awesome Aerogel Blankets.
