@10000diamondeyes because Jerry heard or knew Layne was there so he left. This was when Alice in Chains broke up for a short time so there was a whole lot of butt hurt going on back stage.

@Raptorfy There were lots of things going on in the band, at the time Layne was burned out with AIC and they actually broke up for a short time in 94, he was doing stuff with Second Coming at this time as well. Combine that with drugs everyone in the band was doing there was just a whole lot of butthurt going on. If you read the interviews with Layne from this time you kind of get a picture of what was going on. Also a week later Layne bailed on the Metallica summer 94 tour.
