This is just another lame video (well, actually it's two combined videos) which show off some of the special effects and features that can be done in the first version of Final Cut Express. You can pick up a used copy of FCE1 for about $99 on eBay or elsewhere. For a lot of editing tasks, FCE1 is really great!
I was able to install and use this version of FCE1 on an Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Mini running Leopard (Mac OS 10.5), but it'll run on older and slower Macs, as well as Tiger, Panther, and Jaguar. It's really a great little application.
Video clips from "Robin Hood," "Cranford," "North & South," "Phantom of the Opera," "Wizards and Warriors," "Due South," and featuring actors like Richard Armitage and Duncan Regehr.

Anyhoosiers, i was just curious as to how you got those clips of Robin Hood? For free? Where? Did you burn them from the DVD's? if so, how?

hi there, newbie to this particular program and I have been looking for a way to do the effect you did at 1:50, it looks like a transition but I could be wrong. Could you help me out by telling me what it is? or where to find it? Please? Thanks, and great little vid by the way, loved it!

The blur transition is a transition. I believe it's one of the free ones that you'll find online. ("Too Much Too Soon" I think it's called, but I'll have to confirm that.)

Love this for RA, but was wondering what filter/effect is at 0:33? You also did something similar at 1:42. Help?

The "box in box" effect is present in many programs. Ulead VideoStudio has it to an extent, but you'd be better off using either Premiere Elements or Sony Vegas Movie Studio. (Though Movie Studio will limit how many "floating box" or "box in box" effects you can have at one time, while Premiere Elements lets you do a whole lot of them at the same time if you like.) Windows Movie Maker does not have the ability to do this effect (not without buying something extra, anyway).

You should get FCE 4. It has a hell of a lot more effects and tools.

Uh . . . way to miss the whole point of the video? I was showing what *can* be done on an old version of FCE. In case someone is still using an old G4 or something, there's still a lot they can do. I happen to have Final Cut Studio (as well as FCE4) so I'm well aware of what they can do as well.
