Star Fox 64: Venom 1 (from Bolse)

First off, I want to say that anyone who is watching me for my F-Zero tracks, note that i'm running out of ideas, and many ideas I do have don't work. I'm taking a break from those, and working on sharpening my SF64 skills for a while.

Anyway, with all the improvements i've put out in my real game, I thought I'd practiced unlocked shots in Venom with Project 64's infinite live and level select codes, it's a good place for it. What started as a practice run ended up growing into seeing how much I could score in a game. I kept restarting and challenging myself to get a better score, and this is the result.

On video here is my best run, scoring 240 in a round, a score I impressed myself with. If this was 2-3 months ago, I would have never thought a score like this was possible. When I did it, I was near speechless, even though I didn't have anyone nearby to talk to. Even on an emulator, I was pretty impressed (remember, I don't use those gamebreaking cheats, only minor cheats).

I know I did make a few mistakes. Several places I could have nabbed a few more kills if I had used my brakes, but I can't ever move my fingers to do that, something I need to get over. There were plently of places where I had accuracy issues, especially when I was being pushed around by laser fire. And i'm pretty sure I dozed off for a second in the section with the electric bar things.

Anyway, sit back, enjoy, and if you can, provide a few tips so I may increase my score.

EDIT: I played this level again, this time on my N64. If I had a VCR, I would have used it since I pulled off a score of 258 after 9 retries, 3 of which took place in the tunnel to Andross (nerves messed up my aim).

200, that's the same medal score for both Venom versions, and the medal counts to both versions as well.

Not as bad, but they don't quite live up to the series, especially Adventures from what I hear.

If you don't lock on to anything, you can charge as the shot is being fired, and can fire as soon as the shot detonates. If you locked on to something, you have to wait for the shot to hit its target before being able to charge again.

I know this version of venom was easier. But a lot of times I would go this way on purpose because I felt like a badass charging through Venom and tearin ass!

In expert Venom 1 is WAAAAAY harder than Venom 2. I always found it weird it was the "easy path".
