  • hey jiffy would this location + nice weather be good for tornado? because i was filming at the same place yestaday with normal everyday stuff and it looks great

  • Ofcourse it would be, if Tornado was booked for a tour to plymouth or Cornwall, which it is on 8th of August!!

The field WILL be packed, and you will have to go and see the farmer as sometimes he doesnt let you in, if he does, he charges £1!!

  • Wonderful. Action (a spam can in full cry) and atmoshpere (a nice glint on the loco a train) brilliant work.

  • Cheers for you comment, I was hoping on the glint as i set the camera up with a passing HST!!

  • Lovely! Yay i'm the 3000th viewer! lol

  • i no the farmer :D and been let in everytime :D so far and i think £1 is great but does the money go to anything.

  • Much like the Duchesses, in fact: they were almost too good at making steam, at least they could make it faster than the fireman could put coal in. Would be interesting to see what either one could do with a mechanical stoker, to see what they could really do.

  • Typical Bulleid pacific: the more they are asked to do, the more steam they have to spare. Has anybody ever tried blanking-off some of the holes in the firebox doors, to save just a little on coal and water? Top air helps with clean exhaust and steaming of course, but maybe they could give the same level of performance with a bit less demanded of the fireman? Tangmere is a fabulous locomotive and has lots of work to do these days. Thanks all round.

  • Superb - GW fans eat your heart out!

  • Hark at that haunting chime...of the pre-nationalisation locos, there's nothing quite like a spam can in a hurry (but some of the post nationalisation Riddles standards are almost there, and I have a huge soft spot for the 8F/9Fs)

  • Yes indeed, they had great boiler design
