  • Gotta love campy for the serviceability.

    Shame the ergonomics stink.

  • ghostzapper2006 is obviously some Shimano or SRAM fanboy that's never used Campy. The fact that a complete overhaul can be done in minutes speaks volumes. Who would even bother trying with Shimano - is it even possible?

  • Just replaced my clock spring carrier on my 07 record shifter the tall post tab ended up breaking on the composite piece. I had a set of brand new Veloce shifters laying around and stole the ALLOY carrier and g springs from those. I would recommend purchasing the alloy one over a replacement composite. The shifter now shift like brand new and I have no worries about the alloy breaking now.

  • Still the worst shiftingg systems of the Big 3. All aesthetics and crappy functionality, that,s Campy in a nutshell.

  • this guy is so smooth

  • I meant the audible clicks heard when shifting the rear deraileur from smaller cogs to larger cogs - I guess some call it "downshifting".

  • What do you mean by "Moving the rear derailleur toward the bike"???

    Fine video btw.

  • took me 2 min to disassemble, max 7-8 min to bring new g-spring inside. God bless u!

  • I´ve cleaned mine. But that part on 04:57 the spring doesn´t stayed by itself. I had to hold and place the plate.

  • One more bit of info: in the video, at about the 3:18 mark, he begins working on the "g-springs" and the "spring carrier". I read elsewhere that these are the most common things to wear out first. That's all I replaced in mine. The bike has about 4000 miles on it. My spring carrier was indeed cracked. Replacing these bits returned the shifter to new condition. No more sluggish shifting. And I got my snappy clicks back when moving the rear derailleur in toward the bike.
