GIRL TALK (aka Gregg Michael Gillis) performed a live set for FREE with SQUIRT soda can donations at the Fox Theatre in Pomona California on Friday July 24th 2009. Here is the start of his unforgettable set.

His style is unique... with a sample based collection of insane remixes... he mesmerizes the crowd with pop songs... hip-hop songs... rave favorites and the occasional rock ballad for that ironic fascination in all of us (tee hee). Bringing together a night of Bangin' boogie down moments that left you craving more!!!

Complete with confetti filled balloons the size of tables, a monstrous pillow with the GT logo, a 10 foot tall Bart Simpson and toilet paper streamers being shot out of cannons into the crowd... the atmosphere quickly became party central!

He rocked the house SO hard that at one point, the power failed!

Needless to say I collected 100's of cans so me and my BFF could enjoy a "Meet and Great" with Gregg after the show... All the proceeds from the event went to Habitat For Humanity!

What a talented, clever and unusually nice guy he turned out to be. He signed autographs, took pictures and talked to LOADS of fans for hours. Patience, what a virtue! I was very impressed ;)

And the newly renovated Fox Theatre deserves some praise... an awesome new venue!

  • Is he just using a laptop to DJ?

  • Yes, he is using Adobe Audition. So much fun and energy at his shows!

He's not a DJ, he is a sample based remix, mash up artist I would say ;) Also a great spokesperson for the "Fair Use" copyright law.

  • i was there on stage! got to meet greg after the concert, an amaaaazing night

  • @KrysteeClark It's actually not Adobe Audition. He uses that to cut up the samples. The actual mashing of them is done with Audiomulch 2.0.

Not trying to be a snob, just want to get the right info out there.

  • me too :(

  • i was there!!

  • Ah, ok. I love his stuff, I just had heard him described only as a "Mashup DJ", so I was surprised to see that. But hey, whatever. I mean, the extent I dj is with Virtual DJ on my laptop! I wish I could do more, but i'm money-less for DJ equipment. :|

Anyways, Good ol' Girl Talk :D

  • so amazing! you can see me on stage! I'm wearing a blue and red Red Sox hat
