The Town of Wayland, Massachusetts, has undertaken a project to preserve pieces of its railroad heritage. Preservation efforts along the former Boston & Maine Railroad's Central Massachusetts Branch may lead to the creation of a railroad interpretive site.

In this video, Commission member Richard Conard highlights the project's objectives, the work that is being done by volunteers to maintain the site, and the railroad artifacts that remain such as the Freight House, station building, a turntable pit, a mileage post and a rail rack. The recording was made on May 18, 2003.
