RamMohun had only stayed three weeks in Bristol and yet had such an impact on certain minds that a statue was erected through a local initiative in College Green, a very central spot in the city. Multicultural activist, Carla Contractor, tells us the story of how this happened. The clip also features a recollection by the sculptor, Niranjan Pradhan, who was not aware of the deathmask at this point.

  • I have been romancing Rammohan all these days, but with this video I have fallen in love with this voluble lady Carla Contractor and whoever put that rose at the feet of the Raja. Thanks again for the story of the statue. Best wishes for more such work.

  • Thanks for the interesting interviews on the statue of Raja Rammohan at Bristol. Kudos indeed.
