The Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) at QUT provides the first step towards a career as a registered psychologist and an excellent foundation for careers in a wide range of related areas. During the course, you can choose the areas of study that interest you and align with your career goals. The course examines both theoretical and practical aspects of psychology. Core areas of study introduce you to the scientific bases of psychology including social and developmental psychology, research methods, physiology, perception and cognition.
In addition, you will develop skills in the practical areas of psychology including counselling, individual differences and assessment, and psychopathology. Areas of specialisation include family therapy, alcohol and drug, sexuality and gender, organisational psychology, road safety, and forensic psychology and the law. You can also complete study in areas other than psychology, such as science, criminology, education, public health or business.
