David meets a pretty Spanish girl at the malt shop and, even though he can't speak Spanish and she can't speak English, asks her out on a date. The senorita, Lucita, accepts David's invitation and the date is set.

Later that night, David receives a phone call from Lucita who apparently asks if she can bring a friend with her on their date. David relies on Ricky to interpret for him but Ricky doesn't really speak Spanish. When the Spanish word "duenna" is brought up at the dinner table, Ozzie informs David that "duenna" is Spanish for "chaperone."

On the night of the date, Ozzie decides to serve as David's chaperone so the duenna would have some company. But is the duenna really a duenna?

  • The was an excellent television series

  • hmmmmmmmm chocolate malt!

  • @ghostrepublic I've seen that clip here on YouTube; it is incredible. I didn't know the actor's name but I recognized the face from that clip. You might have to look hard for a malted these days. I don't think they were made from a simple mix like fast food malts are today. They were popular because they were good. In the 50's and even the 60's drive inn restaurants were a place for teens to socialize just like "Happy Days." Thanks for the information. -Michael

  • Thats actor Barney Phillips as the waiter who brings over the malteds to the table. I probably best remember him as the alien with the 3rd eye in the Twilight Zone episode "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?". By the way, do they ever still sell malteds in this day and age? I never see them for sale anywhere. I'm wondering what they taste like and why they were so popular in the 1950s.
