These lights are in fact balloons with flares attached. The reason I know is because the people who launched them are good friends of mine.

I also suggest that all of you keep a cool head this way you can stay tuned to what your seeing, as well be careful who you speak too, and try not to draw too much attention to yourselves as your recording your footage it could be one of countries secret toys ... (hint)

@mchunflin I have a suggestion if in the event you and your family should see this againe, get a tripod and put the camera on it to keep it steady, it's very hard to see the footage because of all the movement with the hand held camera.
I'm sure it will show up again in time.
As to my opinion let me put it this way, someone is doing test runs at night, its a black craft of some sort, and you and your family seen it, good for you guys ..

its real..i seen it i was there...i dont know about aliens...but i seen the exact same thing and it wasnt no flares.I seen this going back to LA from denver...no Flares thats a lie..something to confuse people..that shit wasnt no flares..thats real...after 12 years it pops up on the history channel..i never said much..cause i wasnt sure..but now i know what it is..real shit

check it out. i saw these lights when it happend. i was chillin at a park called lookout park with some buds smokin a blunt when i looked up an seen them "turn their lights on" the lights appeared out of nowhere. they stayed in the same place for about 20 minutes till they one by one disappeared till the last chilled a while then dissapeared. IT WAS NOT BALLOONS TIED TO FLARES damnit that statement pisses me off .being i was there watching them in awe.
