Grand Theft Auto has a very long history. From 1961 to 2013; from London, from the Eastern Seaboard, from the Florida Keys, from the San Andreas Fault and eventually Anywhere City. Songs listed: Da Shootaz - Grand Theft Auto / Jan Hammer - Crockett's Theme / Young Maylay - San Andreas and Comen Get Us / Asha Bhosle - Dum Dum / Ghostface Killa and Doom - Chinatown Wars / Bula Matari - Tax Drivers Must Die
During the 1960s, the twin Crisp Brothers controlled the criminal underworld of London, Enland. They were undisputed crime lords, rivaling against anyone who crossed them. The twins had leadership over London's criminal activities from 1961 to '69. In 1969, the Crisp Brothers were almost killed in a car bombing, so they fled to Devon and Thialand.
In the 1980s, the cocaine trade spreads throughout Florida. 1984, the Forelli mafia of Liberty City loans music artist Phil Collins $2,000,000. They are never paid back. 1986, mob boss Sonny Forelli loses a $2,000,000 investment within Vice City, Florida's narcotics trade. After he arrives in Vice City himself, he is murdered along with high ranking Forelli mobsters by Tommy Vercetti for complete control over the narcotics trade. Tommy had the reputation as a Godfather.
In 1992, the three major Liberty City mafia families attempt to each invest a large sum of money into Caligula's Casino in Las Venturas, San Andreas. The Leone mafia invest $5,000,000. By 1995, the Leones abandon their investment after the casino was robbed for millions. That same year, Carl Johnson would rise from being a street gangster to being the King of San Andreas.
1997, Grand Theft Auto.
In 1998, Antonio Cipriani of the Leone mafia murders off the Forelli and Sindacco mob bosses. The year 2000, gangster Vinnie is killed by his old partner Mike for trying to run off with their money. Infamous explosives expert 8-Ball cripples his hands the same year at a diner while allowing Mike to evade a police raid. 8-Ball damaged his hands when an officer spilled boiling fat on them. By 2001, the Leone mafia is the most influencial criminal organization in Liberty City, all due to Toni Cipriani who was the family's capo, under Salvatore Leone. The Forelli Brothers had dimished into a syndicate rather than being a mafia family and eventually had been completely killed off by the Leones. Boss Salvatore Leone was assassinated shortly after, ending the Leone's reign. Street muscle Claude became a Don sometime later that year.
When the three major mafia families were no longer present in Liberty City after mob wars in 2001, this gave way to the Commission. 2008, the Commission holds a panel of five original mafia families. Those families are the Gambettis, the Pavanos, the Messinas, the Lupisellas and the Ancelottis. The Ancelotti family was mostly killed off by hitman Niko Bellic, who worked for the Gambetti family. Don Gravelli of the Gambetti family died of natural causes in 2008. In 2009, boss Hsin Jaoming of the Triads in Liberty City begins looking for a successor to take his place in the near future, but the heirloom is stolen, a sword that must be passed down to the next upcoming boss. Huang Lee more likely became the next Triad boss since he managed to find the heirloom and restored honor to his family.
2013, Claude Speed works his way through the criminal latter in Anywhere City, USA. While working for various gangs like the Yakuza and the Ziabatzu Corporation, he gains much respect. Claude Speed is murdered while walking to his car, shot in the back for robbing narcotics off of the Ziabatzu Corporation.

@JN5B11 Yes... I agree. The storyline in most of the GTA games is great - that is why I listed them in chronological order. GTA vice city, GTA san andreas and GTA 3 have the best story lines when compared to the other games of the series...

Yes... the song Dum Maro Dum at 8:52 is Indian. All the music in the video has been used in the Grand Theft Auto games, but I think the Indian song was used for a Liberty City Stories commercial... not sure is it was apart of the Liberty City Stories soundtrack.
