Buck is a wonderful Great Dane mix. See his video below, showing off how well he knows sit, down & shake and how sweet he is with dogs of all sizes, even tiny ones! He's between 5 and 8 years old and possibly weighs about 90 pounds. He is long and lean (super-model legs like a Great Dane, but more of lab head and fur). Buck is active, strong on leash when you first take him out, but quickly settles down and is a pleasure to walk. His prior owner had to go into assisted care and could not find a place for him, so he ended up at the shelter. He was kept as an outside dog, but would really prefer to be curled up inside where it's warm, on a soft bed, with his family. He did well with his previous home's grandchildren ages 2 and 9 too (according to the 'surrender notes' at The Pasadena Humane Society). Buck is really a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home!

Buck is living with lots of other dogs and a cat. He is fitting in just fine. He does want to chase the cat a little bit, so we're working with that with the help of one of our dog trainers. Speaking of dog trainers, did we mention he is LIVING with a dog trainer? That's right! His foster mom happens to be an obedience trainer and works with dogs as a 'side gig.' She is amazing. So Buck is learning and living the high life in her home with her husband and their other animals. Lucky Buck!

Buck loves men too. He really loves hanging with his foster dad. He is also good with kids! But due to his size, he should probably go in a home with kids who are bigger (like 8 +). He is very polite around kids, but he is a big boy. He may be too big for a toddler.

We would love to see Buck go to a home that will take him on long walks, jogs or hikes since he's quite active. Buck also enjoys spending time with you on the sofa. He's just a great companion dog and will make some family a very loving and kind companion. This poor dog has been through A LOT. We want his next home to be his FOREVER home. He so deserves it.
