Part one: The Rockefeller Drug Laws have put scores of mostly black and Latino men behind bars on non-violent drug charges. On the books since the 70s, they became the model for drug laws all around the country, pushing the U.S. prison population from a couple hundred thousand to over 2 million. This film follows the activists from the Drop the Rock Coalition up to Albany, as they fight to repeal these racist and unjust laws.

  • they need to focust on addicts and get them to rehabbs but every thing is big money for the goverment their not stopping shit botom line unfair bullshit

  • I think mandatory sentences are a constitutional violation of the separation of the three powers of state (executive, legislative and judiciary). It is an encroachment by Congress into the sentences pronounced by the judiciary.

  • Too many black elected officials are going to prison for corruption and the few that haven't are too damn cowardly and content with hush money to fight the blatant racist laws that feed the prisons with black bodies. This must stop!

  • Heres an idea, go balls out after the Mexican pipelines and the Mexican cartels and on the street there wont be drugs to sell. Dont cops and feds ever wonder why they're spending months doing paramilitary and intelligence operations against losers selling dime bags while 18 wheelers of the stuff are rolling across the border with no heat put on them whatsoever? Maybe its time to start asking a few question of your superiors.

  • The only reason it should be legal is to take power away from the drug dealers and sell it safely in stores. I will never touch crack its stupid but I know that if there were no laws against drugs and the public was more educated on the actual effects there would be less people using them and no violent crimes relating to it. Still even if it is trash (which it is) its still not the governments job to tell us what personal habits we should have No one should be locked up for mistakes.

  • tthis america as long as no one is hurting you who cares. prisons are mostly about money. i am sure none of us are pure and we all have our vices. get off the ego trip. a law like this is insane.

  • how can you make that claim at 5:46 u need facts to say stuff like that

  • Paterson was a Coke Head too! Maybe still is! Stop these Criminals from coming out of Jail. They will commit more crimes then ever in NYC.

  • Why would you have 2 ounces of crack anyway? posessing that trash should never be legal
