My Charter 7/11/10Catalina Island. Raw Video, Sorry for missing some video, I was watching like everyone else without looking at the screen!
We were moving to another fishing spot on our charter when the skipper stopped on a shark. I went up top and saw what I thought was a dead seal it had already killed. I saw the seal start moving, trying to swim... It's still alive!
Notice the Seal has no rear fins. When we pulled up, the rear portion of the body was GONE. You can see all the vital organs exposed.
The seal would pop its head up and look at us. It seemed like it wanted to swim towards us. Tried to swim down but, would just float back up to the surface. At 4 minutes, the shark slapped its tail then turned to end it!
The shark kept circling between the seal and the boat. Notice another seal was swimming near by, not sure if it was trying to distract the shark?
Now... the debate... MAKO OR GREAT WHITE?
I'll have another version up shortly, an eye level view...

Amazing video... Also, you may notice a number of calorific meals that would make a good addition to the food chain making useless comments on deck. By calorific I mean blubbery...

The nose looked pointy like a Mako. Either way though, big f'n shark, and what a site to see! Who needs Discovery Channel when you have the Channel Islands in your backyard!
