edifier is some wannabe logitech manufacturer, Logitech has the name, Logitech has the stuff, Logitech has the watts. Logitech Rulezzzzzz. i bought my logitech z-5500 for only 270 euro's the logitech z-5500 will kill pill this edifier set i hope u know logitech z-5500 has some hidden features like +22 boost this is like 50% more maximum volume, trust me u will hear the difference between the logitech and edifier set. and well the setup u used here it sucks good thing u replaced rears

@skyline1234111 Edifier is better Logitech Z-5500 are made of plastic, Edifier from strong wood covered with plastic.

@csandprodigy Edifier je lepší, protože logitech z-5500 mají bedny celé z plastu, Edifier ze silného dřeva potaženého vrstvičkou plastu. Repráky vždycky líp znějí ve dřevě.

music is normally stereo ==> 2.1 !

some music is recorded to play it on surround ==> 5.1; 7.1 !

But, how i said, the most music is recorded in 2.1, normally the Logitech should only play on left, right speaker and subwoofer, but it plays on all speakers, because it encoded it to 5.1.

5.1 is only good for films, movies.. but for music 2.1 is much better.

My Edifier S730D is better than any Logitechsystem.Trust me,505 Watts are nothing if they sound like shit.And the Woofer alone has just 188 Watts so why you think the Z5500 is a strong system?

@azazeliusn When did u found out our speakers were made of plastic?? sure I wanna see plastic speakers, I believe only the house around the speakers are plastic aren't they??

anyway I don't want to hear the Edifier S550 because they aren't for sale here and ehm I'm done with compact speakers.. I am going for a 7.1 160watt Pioneer receiver with Jamo 5.0 speakers 150 watt rms each and the Magnat quantum 530A subwoofer. I think that would be great sound quality! Have fun with Edifier or Logitech ;)

@skyline1234111 The plastic satellites and subwoofer give inferior sound on the Z5500. you just havn't pulled your head far enough out of your rectum to even listen to the S550 in real life.

anyway the z5500 is going to be an unique item since it's not being produced anymore by Logitech because of their Z906..

and ehm the z5500's quality is great. sound won't reduce in quality when u turn it up and the sub is clear bass.

don't cry about your speakers man, look on the site of the edifier. LMFAO 120 watt subwoofer? we got 188 watt bro. also our speakers are much more watts =)

@skyline1234111 Your obviously trying to make yourself feel better about your weak Logitechs. The Edifiers, had you ever seen them, you would know, have a volume boost function as well. The speakers and sub woofer are made from wood for better acoustics, hence why they are almost double the size of Logitechs. Unlike my mates Z5500, my sub woofer doesn't have that monotonous distorted bass sound, the edifier sub is crisp, clear and very smooth, I swear i've heard sounds I've never heard before.
