@ZebrasFromHell Not true the marines are a smaller force hence less money is needed to fund them. Unlike army and navy much larger force more money. You probably want to join to feel like a bad ass and get that steady paycheck like everyone else.

@CDresden13 The Marines are usually the first to be sent to combat so they are brutally trained so they may survive in combat with the bare necessities. That is why the Marine Corps is less funded than some of the other branches of the military because they were trained to survive on so little. I wanna join in two years when I'm 19 and I just can't explain why I want to join and neither could anyone else I talked to who wants to join.

@CDresden13 The Uniform, the tradition, and the title Marines mean a lot more than you think. Marines are trained like that for a purpose. It might look dumb to you but its actually teaching the recruits discipline.

Bark, bark, bark. This is one of the reasons I didn't join the Marines. The same rank in each of the services gets paid exactly the same. Makes no literal sense to me for anyone to join the marines.
