A russian 1968 cartoon, "The Little Mermaid" based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Subtitled by me in English. The ending is not the sugary-sweet Disney one, but follows the fairy tale closely.

@wickedfeylady so, we can all say, the our great big Soviet is copies 1955 concepts of the Disney's The Little Mermaid. Так что я могу сказать, что наш чудесный СССР спер для создания мультфильма, концепты 1955 года, которые должны были стать основой для Русалочки студии Уолта Диснея...
Но я все равно очень люблю этот мультфильм.

@Shachah223 it just reminded me of the scary book that i had when i was a kid and the way that the characters and backgrounds were drawn in my book is the same w/ this movie. that's why :D

nope, sorry - I did the subtitles for these videos and the hard drive of my old laptop (which had the .srt files) broke, so the subtitles only survive in the videos.

Can you tell me where to find the .srt file for this one? I've had the original video for long, but I don't have any subtitles at all. :(

hi foxlady, I actually subtitled this myself, so the .srt file isn't out there. i would send it to you but the hard drive broke on the computer i used to do this :(
