Do you have to be a marine to fly in 847? I know some of there pilots are navy but are they just exchange or something, I really don't understand the system

No, it is a joint Royal Navy/Royal Marine Sqn. Marines are free to go to all the Fleet Air Arm Sqns, as are the Navy.
