  • She's only exaggerating the sounds that non natives of New York hear. Of course yous guys in New York don't talk like that because it's much quicker and clipped. New Yorkers do not sound that crazy. So chill out already.

  • In most New York police-based dramas, the English is cleaned up for the rest of the country. Real NYPD detectives dont speak like Stabler and Benson. There is a definite New York police English. Perpetrator is used a lot. It comes out as Poypachvayda True this is mostly the older cops and there is more Black and Latino influence now. Also NYPD cops are now required to have college degrees which improves and standardizes the English.
