In the many wondrous works in the site "Folk Music of England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales and America" hereinafter to be referred to as: Lesley Nelson-Burns' (aka the Contemplator)'s Folk Music Site, there is a short section on the Irish Songwriter Percy French. It was he who wrote "Abdul Abulbul Amir", "The Mountains of Mourne" and others I hope to upload soon myself.
The words and melody to this song were written by Percy French (1854-1920) after he graduated from Trinity College, during the seven year period he was an engineer in Cavan. Phil was a real person on the Leitridonotuse-Sligo border. He gave parties in his home to help pay the rent.
i like this song;o dont know why, not my regular type of music, can you tell me what camera you used please?(:

@randomguitarshizz This video was made using my Logitech Webcam. I have found however that with just a small increase in the volume of my voice or instrument, the internal microphone crackles with interference, so my more recent videos have been made using my Panasonic Lumix FZ38 camera which gives much better sound quality, but is static. i,e, it does not zoom in and out nor pan across.

Up down, hands around! I can just see the dancers. Bet you had to give your tongue a rest after that one. ...Bill
