Coldplay is not only a great band but he is committed !
"Make Trade Fair" is a campaign organized by Oxfam International as its contribution to the Trade Justice Movement to promote trade justice and fair trade among governments, institutions, and multinational corporations.
The campaign has focused on the elimination of several trade practices:
Dumping, which occurs when highly subsidized, surplus commodities from rich countries such as rice, cotton, corn, and sugar are sold at low prices and farmers from poor countries have difficulty competing. It is believed that this creates an uneven playing field where farmers in developing countries are unable to compete in the market with cheaper foreign produce and crops.[1]
Tariffs, where nations enforce high taxes on imported goods, restricting the sales of products from other nations.[2]
Unbalanced labour rights for women, who often earn lower wages than their male counterparts.[3]
Stringent patent issues, that drive up the price of medication, drugs, and textbooks. Thus, such essential goods are often inaccessible to developing nations.

Le Commerce Équitable est un partenariat de commerce, basé sur le dialogue, la transparence et le respect, qui cherche une équité plus grande dans le commerce international. Il contribue au développement durable en offrant de meilleures conditions de négociations et la garantie de leurs droits aux petits producteurs marginalisés et aux ouvriers, particulièrement des pays du Sud. Des organisations de Commerce Équitable (soutenues par des consommateurs) sont engagées activement dans le soutien apporté aux producteurs, la conscientisation du public et dans l'organisation d'une campagne pour réclamer le changement des règles et des pratiques de commerce international conventionnel.
