I just got my Brute Force Sand bag and came across this video for training ideas... let me ask you this, do you train with sand bags exclusively or no?

Very nice, Matt, and your body seems to testify to its effectiveness. Thanks for sharing. Nice that the flowers got watered too. LOL

I don't train exclusively with the sandbag and use lots of other tools like kettlebells, olympic wieghts, battling ropes etc. Variety keeps your body guessing and you from getting bored. As I recall, at the time that this video was made we had just come back from training Thai boxing in Thailand. However, I've found the sandbag to be one of the toughest and cheapest exercise tools out there. I made this bag. I'm curious to see how much one of the bags you can purchase is better.

I use and 80 pound bag of wood pellets to lift.

Ya, I've heard that bags of wood pellets are great and have been meaning to make one. I suspect it would be better for gripping.

it's a cheap military duffel bag.
sandbag cleans do hit a lot of muscle groups (legs, back, hamstrings, back, etc.) with this weight and style of workout I'm focusing on metabolic conditioning.
thanks for the tip on watering the plants. we're not the best gardeners :)

How much does that one weigh?? Making one myself and trying to figure out a good starting weight. Suggestions?

@cooljz82 The one in the video is 30kg, which isn't too bad. I just bought another 20kg bag of sand, so I can up my training to 50kg.
