Ok ..this guy is fucking brilliant ..This is exactly how to approach music ...........the only thing I would completely disagree with are the Petrucci comments .....There is no melody or feel In John's Petrucci's playing ..........I never could stand him or Dream theater

Wow! Great Advice... It seems simple but I've never visualized it that way. The way you explained it and then executed it made a lot of sense. Possibly one of the best soloing tips I've heard... Thanks

Amazing lesson, this always helps me. Whenever I try to make a solo while actually sitting with a guitar, I instantly just run patterns. The idea is to stop playing with your fingers and start playing with your mind because that's where all your creativity is actually located. This is a great exercise for this, later you will be able to do this on a go while improvising live.
