http://www.thebatteryclinic.co.nz for low price batteries, solar and wind systems. The Aerotek RB900 is beautifully streamlined and aerodynamic. There are many features in this machine that are revolutionary, and sets itself apart from the competition.
Proudly 100% designed and manufactured in New Zealand.

Propellors :
1) 5 bladed design optimise power production at lower wind speeds.
2) 2 meters span and 3.14 sq meters swept area is the largest in 1 kilowatt micro turbines.
3) Aluminium blades are light and stiff enhancing power production at low wind speeds.
4) Blades are designed to self dampen at high wind speeds.

Nose Cone :
The distnctive looking nose cone increases stability and efficiency of the machine by as much as 20%.

Rotor and motor size :
A small motor can turn easily requiring smaller rotors, but will only generate a small amount of power. A large motor is harder to spin requiring larger rotors. It is a delicate art to balance the length of the rotors to the size of the motor for optimal performance. Through extensive testing in field tests and wind tunnel testing the optimal of 2.0 meters was determined. This is one of the largest in 1 kilowatt wind turbine designs.

Motor :
The Fisher and Paykel motor is rated at 1.2 kilowatt. It is a brushless permanent magnet motor lighter than other motors in this power range. It's light weight makes it easy to install the wind generator in built up areas, requiring less structural support. The Rb900 has excellent power to weight ratio compared to other generators.

Direct Drive :
Not employing a gearbox reduces the weight of the RB900 and the noise eminating from these gearboxes. It also increase the efficiency of the machine. The only parts subjected to mechanical wear and tear are 2 bearings. This increases the reliability of the RB900.

Aerodynamic Noise :
The tip of the propellor moves the fastest. Specially designed tips of the propellor in the RB900 reduces aerodynamic wind noise. We just installed the RB900 on a 7 meter pole at the factory and it is absolutely silent.

High Winds:
In high winds most turbine designs have mechanism that turn rotors away from the wind. In the RB900 the pitch angle of the propellors change limiting the speed of the rotors to 2000 RPMs. The machine remain pointing upwind and generating maximum power in a gale. The RB900 have survived wind speeds of 130 KPH.
Aerotek gurantees full replacement of the propellor blades if they are ever damaged by high winds.
