I know there are much better Myers masks out there, but at the moment I don't feel like spending over 150 dollars. Modified using advice from costumebot tutorial and some of my own ideas.

these are my converted Michael Myers masks. they are made by Don Post and are the 2003 and 2006 masks. the 2006 mask still needs alot of work, and those lips are a pain because I still haven't gotten them right. and there are several other things too, but there isn't much more I could do to the 2003 mask.

  • what paint and materials did you use to do this conversion?

  • @tsm1th611 this one was done using acrylic paint, however, acrylic paint will flake off of latex masks if applied too thick, lightly applying watered down acrylic paint with a piece of foam is good for touch-ups. for full basecoating you'll want to mix the acrylic about 50/50 with liquid latex

  • @JustinMcQueenTheMan thanks for replying to my comment, but i also have a couple more question. how did you get the masks to look aged like that? did you use paint as well and how did you use the paint to create that aging effect? also for the cheek lines, the jowels, did you use a really thin paint brush for those so they dont look to obvious? and how did you make them look like they were a part of the mask so easily?

  • @tsm1th611 I used paint for aging, I take something soft with texture (I use a sock, provides excellent texture) get it wet, and dip it into acrylic paint, I then rub it into the mask and once it's spread around I lightly tap the sock against the entire surface area of the mask, put more paint on some spots than others for a better aging effect, for the jowels I used the same method but just repeated it when I needed it darker and followed the slight jowels that were already on the mask.

  • @JustinMcQueenTheMan ok because i have a don post 2003 and its the only mask i have, and im not in the financial situation to buy a new one right now. im kinda nervous to customize it because i dont want to ruin, but i cant help but see how much better this revisions make the masks look. what colors of acrylic paint for the aging effect with the sock?

  • @tsm1th611 whichever ones you like, I mix all my colors so there aren't any specific ones, some people like to use browns, some like to use greys, this one was mostly done with grey colors.
