U.S. Ordnance's Mk43 is a machine gun you want with you when you're in the field.
It's a 7.62mm, general purpose weapon system that is gas operated, belt fed and air cooled.
Based on the combat-proven M60, but radically enhanced, the Mk43 is reliable and supportable.
This solid performer has a lethal yet conservative rate of fire between 500 to 600 rounds per minute from an open bolt. With it, you can accurately shoot in the offhand, or shoulder, kneeling and prone positions. It's effective out to 1100 meters. Because you can mount optics, aiming lasers and other accessories onto the Mk43, it performs around the clock.
U.S. Ordnance manufactures and tests its Mk43s according to U.S. military technical specifications and instructions. Each weapon undergoes rigorous environmental testing like sand, ice, heat, and water immersion so it can withstand the harshest real world conditions.
Additionally, every weapon is high-pressure tested, and magnetic particle inspected, using technologically advanced equipment to detect any flaws. Every MK43 is test fired for functionality and accuracy.
The Mk43 is user friendly. It is light, weighing approximately 9.5 kilograms, or about 20 pounds, and is compact. Its weight, size and design make it easy to carry and maneuver. The gun is compatible with all standard NATO ammunition, tripods, and vehicle mounts for use in various applications.
The Mk43 features a quick-change barrel, which is crucial for safe and efficient operation, particularly when you're under fire. The improved gas system mounted to the barrel is a significant advantage over the competition in that a gas system failure during combat can be easily corrected by a quick barrel change.
Conveniently, all major components of the Mk43 directly interchange with other M60 configurations.
For manageability, dependability and durability, you want U.S. Ordnance's Mk43.

@MikeKKn Yeah, and the M60E4 can be fired from the hip, which the M240B cannot. The U.S. military will most likely readopt the M60 once they realize how much more effective it is as a squad level machine gun.

This is actually better then the m240, the are rubbing it in on how they're so much better with all the reliability and stuff, but they're on comparing it to the original and older m60 family, the newer ones have much more beneficial qualities, and don't forget how light it is, 20lbs compared to the m240's 28.5lbs is pretty good, and with the lower rate of fire it will less likely to overheat.

@rvbsmcaboose In a open bolt system the bolt locks to the rear after you release the trigger allowing hot gases to escape easier and cold air to enter the barrel and chamber; this is a cooler running system. In a closed bolt system the bolt travels forward and chambers another round after you release the trigger. When you press the trigger on a open bolt system the bolt travel forwards, picks up the round ,chambers it, fires it. the closed bolt system just releases the firing pin.
