How To Connect To Xbox Live With A Laptop Using Windows XP

This shows you how you can connect your internet connected windows xp laptop to an xbox 360 or other external devise that uses internet.

I do not own any of this music. It is all owned by WMG. No copyright infringement intended.

Here are the steps...

BRIDGING
-click on start
-scroll over connect to
-click on "show all connections"
-Click on your wireless connection and hold control until you click on your local connection (highlights both)
-right click and go to bridge connections

DISABLING FIREWALL
-Click on Start
-Click on Control Panel
-Click On Security Center
-Under "Manage Settings For:" click windows firewall
-click the circle next to "Off"
-Click "OK"

ALTERNATIVE WAY
-Click on Start
-Scroll Over "Connect To"
-Click on "Show all Connections"
-Right Click Wireless connections and go to "Properties"
-Go to the Advanced Tab
-Check the first box under "Internet Connection Sharing" and if that doesn't work check both

If DNS fails, try setting it to automatic!

I have two seperate 'Wireless network Connections' should I bridge them both?

@SuniRedPanda bridge the one that is providing internet. if you don't know you can click on the network in network connections and it should say a sent and received box. the one in which these numbers change should be your internet connection.

I HAVE XP AND WHEN I CLICK RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON AND THAN BRIDGE CONNECTION IT SHOWS NE NEXT "To create a netvork bridge, you must select at last two LAN or High-Speed Internet connections that are not being used by Internet Connection Sharing". What does it mean and can i fix it i mean can someone help me please.

my laptop doesnt give the option to bridge connections and it doesnt have a network sharing tab if i click on properties, how do i connect to my xbox if neither of these are available?

Hey, if anyone can help me.. my problem right now is that when I click "OK" after checking "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" it gives me an error message saying " A LAN connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing." Do I need to change my IP or is it someone else on the network that needs a different IP?

Help would be appreciated. I've been looking for a solution for quite a while, now.
