Monster Wars was a syndicated television show featuring United States Hot Rod Association monster truck racing. The show aired for one season. The show was hosted by Hottie Lou Ann Lee, with Joe Lowe providing voiceover for races and Jim Davidson as a pit reporter.

Looking back it was a little cheesey with the the mascots, before individual matchups of trucks, these mascots would often appear on screen, trash talking to one another. Monster Wars had a series of toy trucks (which i had all of the big truck with the mascots, and have 2 of the smaller ones of Taurus and Equalizer)and a video game followed, the show was cancelled after one season. Interestingly, the champion of the series, Bearfoot, had no mascot.
Trucks without mascots were: Fread Sahper in Bearfoot, Jody Peterson in TROUBLEMAKER, Wayne Smozanek in TROPICAL THUNDER,and Mark Bendler's KODIAK.
Trucks with mascots were:
Grave Digger - Grim Reaper character in a graveyard
Invader - Alien robot in outer space.
Predator - Half man-half cat (with the ability to morph into a panther) in an urban back alley
Equalizer - Traditional superhero in a snowy landscape
Carolina Crusher - Construction worker in a construction zone
Taurus - Cowboy in a desert
First Blood - Vampire in Transylvania (only appeared in roughly half the episodes, as the truck was sold mid-season).

  • what year was this 90? that was the earliest footage of Prowler i have ever seen

  • year 93. Thats Predator NOT Prowler.

  • Do you know what the name of the video game was?

  • I think it was called "Monster Wars the game". But I need to find it somewhere.

  • this show was dumb compared to monster jam nowdays

  • well this was when owners own there trucks, and not the company...

  • A lot of those older trucks are still racing, they just chose not to sell out to Live Nation to be part of "Monster Jam".

  • Paul Shafer owns Bearfoot, Monster Patrol, Taurus, Boogey Van, Carolina Crusher and Wild Thang. Most of those names still run at Paul Shafer Motorsports events and sometimes at Monster Jam. Shafer also leases out names so other owners not affiliated with him will run those names and paint schemes on their vehicles.
