I saw the war
How many times have I seen war
the streets of this land
the streets of my country
Many times I have seen war.
flight of the innocent children
on their faces serene and staring,
in a circle shaking hands
and feel embraced by the world,
the powerful there rob the whole sky
and the oppressed must be underground.
make us strip down to earth
while they toast the evening.
how many times I have seen war
the streets of this land
the streets of my country
Many times I have seen war.
like dogs malnourished and hungry
forced to wander in the suburbs,
now we are thirsty of freedom
I wonder if one day arriverù for us.
how many times I have seen war
the streets of this land
the streets of my country
Many times I have seen war.
I sang many times peace
along the roads of the world,
but there is no light in his eyes
and so I was alone.
I tried a little bit of love
between the good people of the country,
to dig deep within their hearts
but I always paid the costs.
how many times I have seen war
the streets of this land
the streets of my country
Many times I have seen war.
