Tim Hardin was a very troubled soul, but he wrote some knock-down gorgeous songs, like this. This is the second of my "Trillium" series.

  • Well done, sir. You captured every complicated feeling behind Hardin's song: pain, betrayal, anger and, in the end, hope. No offense to Rod Stewart, but this is the way this song was meant to be played and sung. 5 stars.

  • Thanks very much for that.

I love ol' Rod's version too.

  • Nice cover...

  • Yep, Tim Hardin could sure put together some great songs. You did him proud, as they say, whoever "they" are. Those 12 strings ring real pretty. - Mark

  • You're welcome. As for Rod, love the guy, but the song, in my opinion, is one-dimensional, with anger and betrayal prevailing. Your version is delivered with a certain vulnerability, whichl, at the end of the day, is the very essence of loving someone.

  • A classic song, another great selection.
