2011 Lent Day 39

The final chapters in my class' theology book challenge my thinking: are souls immortal by default? Perhaps not. What is Heaven? Is there a Hell?

We have to be careful when talking with our Jehovah Witness brothers/sisters. When C. T. Russell made the JW, he decided his belefs then rewrote their bible to fit his beliefs. Bible-and the word was God JW- and the word was a god Bible-All things were created through Him JW- All other things were created through him Bible- "this day you will be with ime in paradise" JW- This day,"you will be with me in paradise". Small changes that completely change the meaning of the verse.

Hell - another "place" that definitely exists. Described as everlasting punishment, eternal fire, the worm dies not, etc Many don't want to beleive in hell because they don't want to think about consequences of their actions. No one has to go to hell,we can choose God's mercy instead. Best explanation I've head is this "God loves us so much, that when we die, He will give us what we want most. If its not Him, then that's what we'll get." L Richards

Heaven - No one knows if its a physical place or perhaps a dimension all around us. But heaven definitiy exists "someplace" because Jesus says "our Father Who ART in heaven", "i am the bread COME DOWN from heaven", "you will see the son of man RISING to heaven", "this day you will be WITH Me in heaven". So heaven does now and always existed (and after the second coming, earth will be part of it)
