In fact, the Rafa Benetiz one is even mentioned on Wikipedia!

@chuggawugga2 - I can assure you that both Wenger & Ferguson were interested in Huckerby, 3 years before Strachan wanted him. Did you sit at Carrow Road and watch Huckerby tear apart Gary Neville at his peak? Did you see the goal at Highbury which was applauded by Thierry Henry? Rafa Benitez wanted him too, all of this is document on archived news directories if you want to prove yourself wrong, as is the £42k a week he rejected to join Spartak Moscow. Im a journalist by the way ;-)

Darren huckerby one of the best players ever to put a norwich shirt on , He was at norwich for 5 years and has become a club legend , MLS is getting better but huckerby tbh makes them look silly , No offence but its the truth he should of stayed at norwich . LEGEND!

I bet Salisbury City would love David Beckham on the right flank so!
-
the mls is not even good enough to rival conference football in england
-
@onlinecashman: I highly doubt Ferguson or Wenger were interested in Huckerby, but his former manager at Coventry, Gordon Strachan, was interested in bringing him to Scottish giants Celtic.
-
Huckerby wasn't at Norwich when they were relegated to league 1 (3rd tier). He was a major part in getting them promoted to the Premiership in 2003/2004 and scored 7 goals in the top division 2004/2005.
So you're making an inaccurate comparison. Obviously the MLS isn't as good as the Premiership or Championship, but it is improving every season.

funny how a player who makes his name at norwich (a club in the 3rd tier of english football) is a star in the top flight of the MLS
shows how poor the quality the yanks are
-
you're right norwich took a chance on him and he payed them back in full

Huckerby is a legend to Norwich fans and part of the reason we're now in League One *shudder* is because we let him go. He was off and on with form but I'd always agree that he's an under-rated player.
i'll think you'll find you are an ass!
hucks played for cov, leeds and norwich in the premiership and played consistently for norwich in division one for over 150 games, without being 'stuck in the reserves'
granted he aint not legend, but he certainly isn't a lower league player!
