I can't believe I'm the first person to upload this. Here's a rare commercial for the Furby spin-off toy, Shelby! I used to have one of these (not sure where it went), and thought it was funny. Shelby seems to have a more party-ish attitude than the Furbies. I especially like the bit when the Shelby says "Boring!" when he sees the live crab.

No, it was a novelty "Friend of Furby," designed to also talk with Furbies. It has similar eyes and lips, but a clam body and antennas, and a different voice and personality, plus instead of up-and-down, Shelby's eyes move from side to side in a convincing manner.

I always thought Shelby was a Furby shoved cruelly into a cramped clam for the rest of its life, looking at the beak. I'm probably wrong.

Sort of, except Shelby was made by the same company as Furby, designed to actually talk with Furbies. So it's more like a spin-off. Baby Brainy and Furbish, on the other hand, really ARE Furby knock-offs
