As low fat raw vegans, we're constantly faced with the sight and aroma of cooked food. This can be very frustrating when you're first starting out on the 80/10/10 diet and trying to curb your cooked food cravings. Here are a couple of ways I overcome them, and how you can prevent them from happening in the first place.

  • Sorry if you already have a video about this, but could you go into more detail about what you said concerning cooked food numbs us, and makes us not be able to feel our feelings?

  • @rawsynergytv Also, how do you feel about short term fasting, maybe 3 days to a week? Not really thinking about weight loss, but more like for cleansing and detoxifying the body. I'm thinking things like digestive problems and whatnot. Thanks for replying.

  • @lnsertCleverName I've heard it can be very good. I've only done a 1 day water fast & it was extremely difficult for me. I prefer a focus on a lot of fruit for cleansing & healing digestive issues. That worked best for me personally. Juice fasts on fresh grape juice & other juicy fruits like melons & such can also be very beneficial without needing to be bedridden like you do on a water fast. Just simply eating only fruit all day & a big green salad at night can make major improvements. :0)

  • When I first gave up animal products I felt much better and happier. My spirits just shot up. My brother and husband were both vegans before me. They didn't push me, they simply showed by example which was smart. My brother said I felt better because the diet was healthier. The hubby had a more spiritual approach. He said I was happier because I was no longer consuming the pain and misery of the animals. I think they're both right.

  • @belrich08 Why wouldn't I share something that's changed my life and my health so profoundly for the better? Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make it wrong or bad. All of my health problems vanished and never returned. The same thing has happened for all my friends who eat a low fat, high carb, raw vegan diet. So how is it that it's not healthy, when I'm healthier than I've ever been in my life?

  • @xnenaxo I live in Minneapolis, MN and it is very cold here as well. I try and consume as much raw fruits and vegetables as I can and when the temp drops to single digits or below zero and I am literally shivering, I comfort myself by sipping on some hot herbal tea. It helps a lot.

  • @xnenaxo I am in NYC, its not as cold as in my home country Lithuania, so dont complain, NYC is very easy to eat raw., be happy and think how lucky we are to be able to eat them!

  • @xnenaxo I'm sort of spoiled because I live in southern California & the weather never gets too cold. I would probably have bananas, apples & dates mixed together with some cinnamon for breakfast & prepare more savory dishes at night. I would also sip warm water if it got really cold. I definitely wouldn't be eating anything straight out of the fridge. The funny thing is I used to always be so cold but now, I'm always on the warm side. Maybe the more you eat this way your temp balances out. :0)
