A very, very dark time in this country. Watching this brings back a lot of the pain that I felt at that time. Just couldn't grasp that the president could be cut down that way. The coffin coming back to DC from Dallas. Her bloodstained pink dress. The bitter cold here in DC. Dark.

If anything, Kennedy was far from being Illuminati... He was an outsider, he was the piece that was not suppose to be there and they removed him... God Rest His Soul...

The drum roll is so hauntingly unforgettable, even to this day.

The holdover Truman/Eisenhower faithful were not ready for "change" at that time in our history. It also seems that LBJ was much like a Republican than a Democrat.
This was the most beautiful funeral that any citizen could possibly want for a beloved President. It was due, of course, to Jackie's exquisite taste with so many poignant moments. I remember having a hard time believing that this had happened to him, that he was no longer our President. I, like many Americans, did not want to let go of him -- and so he remains today in our hearts. Amazingly, his legacy touches the newest generation as witness below.
