One male, and two female diamond doves. The male (first one you see), and the darker grey female have been with me for a longer time then the light coloured female. The light coloured female was in very bad shape when she came here. I had found her in a pet shop, put in a small cage with many finches. Finches attack diamond doves, so she was pretty much hunted all the time (for a year!). She had no feathers left on her neck and back, and her skin was quite red and sore. Also, hear beak was 'much' to long, her nails as well, and she was much too thin. It was terrible to see! Often I find birds in pet shops very sad, and often I have to walk away. I cannot talk them with me without buying. (buying is supporting the pet shop....) But this time I really wanted to do something, probably because 'I could', I already had two little diamond doves. So to make a long story short, I managed to make the pet shop owner give her to me for free. (I did not want to pay and support the shop)
On this video you see that the male pretty much wants the females (especially his one, the darker grey female) to follow him to the places where he goes. First above the curtain and then the basket. But its not quite working out.
And here she is now :) doing so great! I allowed her to go with the other two after a while. And she is really enjoying, so it seems. Her feathers are growing back quite fast and.. she is just becoming healthy. :)
lol, my diamond dove is trying to talk with you doves through the computer xD. It hears them and is responding to them ^__^.
