Robotech Remastered vs. Macross in English Minmay OH NO!!! are Clips, one from the Robotech Remastered vs. the other from my Original MACROSS in English VHS Tape by Harmony Gold. Showing that Minmay's OH NO!!! was not because of the Battle Pod that they were going to hit, but was in fact because Minmay saw that her Hair was all messed up in the rear view mirror. What's more Important, your Hair or your Life? Why my Hair, of course... Ha Ha Ha!!! Got to love that witty banter... Too bad that scene did not make it into Robotech.

Yours Truly,

Tony M. Victorino

  • Super Dimension Fortress : Macross. In Malaysia When i was a boy we called it Robotech. There's an official website for it robotech.com. It kept me there for days reliving the timeline.

  • was it called super space fortress macross by any chance?

  • This is stupid

  • @S0ryiu , You're preaching to the choir my friend. I'm an oldschool fan since '85. Of course I know the broad, sweeping differences between Robotech and Macross. I was asking more for examples subtle juxtapositions of scenes from both series to illustrate how the viewing experience of Robotech differs from that of Macross. Examples like lordvictorino's video here. Thanks for responding though. Cheers.

  • @taylormatthewhyslop well, considering Robotech actually pulled footage from three different shows, renamed most of the cast, and turned protoculture into an energy source instead of the predecessors to humanity.

  • Nice video! Do you think you could upload the 1984 HG Macross pilot? It's so elusive, I've been wanting to see it for awhile. Edits such as these were, and still are commonplace amongst anime dubs made for TV such as "Robotech", as timeslot constraints require producers to cut out "fluff" footage that doesn't have any real significance to the story (that's in addition to violence and content, like Minmay showering...mmm....er, that's not acceptable for U.S TV).

  • Cool. I've often wanted to watch through Macross and Robotech to find all the little differences like this. Unfortunately I can't bring myself to do it, as the dialogue and voice acting in Robotech is generally so terrible that it ruins my childhood memories!

If you've any more good examples of these sort of differences, please post.

    Thanks.
